Danny Meyer, one of the biggest *restaurateurs in New York City, announced last week that he is going to phase out tipping in all 13 of his restaurants over the next year. Media outlets in the US and the UK not only reported the news, but also ran opinion pieces, mostly applauding Meyer’s decision.
