Hold On was written and sung by Zhang Yixing. It’s an encouraging song in which Zhang sings about his struggles (挣扎) and strong will (意愿) to go for his dreams. The music is deep at the beginning, symbolizing life’s pains. As the song goes on, some happier notes begin to appear, fighting against the pain. Zhang was once trained in South Korea as an idol, but he was more interested in writing his own music and beats (节奏). He calls himself a beatmaker.
