Stone wins cup

The 73rd Venice Film Festival wrapped up (圆满完成) on Sept 10. Emma Stone was awarded the Volpi Cup for Best Actress for her role in the musical La La Land, quickly making her a front-runner among the top contenders (争夺者) of the award season. In an interview with Variety, Stone owed her successful depiction (演绎) of the aspiring (有抱负的) actress in the film to her own experiences. “I definitely understood the feeling of moving to Los Angeles and having a dream to be an actor in films. I wanted to get to be a part of things that I loved and inspire people in some way,” she said.
