Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. So, what is my Chinese dream? Let’s hear my own experience.
When I was in grade 8, our school organized a student exchange program to Fuyang, Anhui, a small town with laggard (落后的) economic conditions. What I noticed there was quite surprising. I found the school more like a construction site. 70 students crammed (塞满) together in one packed classroom. All of the students used old wooden pencils and obsolete (陈旧的) notebooks. When I asked them whether they used computers on campus, they were like, “You gotta be kidding me. I don’t even have one.” And I asked one of the students about her ideal job, and she told me she wanted to be a doctor, but she said she could never make it since her family lacked financial (财政的) support.
