Visitor Code of Conduct

Please help us maintain (维持) a healing environment for our patients. Visiting hours and policies vary throughout the hospital. Please ask a staff member about the policy on the unit you wish to visit. We ask that you comply with the following visitor rules:

l Do not visit if you are sick (fever, cough, sore throat, nausea, or vomiting) or have been exposed to chicken pox (水痘) or other contagious (传染的) illnesses within the past three weeks.

l Clean your hands each time you enter and leave the patient’s room.

l Follow isolation precautions (隔离预防措施) that are posted on the patient’s door.

l Do not touch patient equipment, patient wounds, or bandages while visiting.

l You must wear shoes and shirts at all times. Clothing must be clean and neat.

l Visitors are limited to two per patient each time.

l Do not use waiting rooms on a unit if you are not visiting a patient in that unit.

l Waiting rooms are not for overnight stays.

l Children must have adult supervision (监护) at all times and must be respectful of the hospital’s healing environment. Some units do not allow children’s visiting.

“I had no idea!” – Export Control Brown Bag (4-part series)

Brown’s Office of Research Integrity (ORI) is hosting a 4-part Brown Bag series on “Export Controls at the University”. Export Controls are federal government laws and regulations. The series will explore when research activities fall under Export Control laws, why “fundamental (基础的) research” is so important, and why traveling to sanctioned (被制裁的) or embargoed (被禁运的) countries, such as Iran or Cuba, still presents a lot of challenges. The first session, “I had no idea!”,will explore why export controls cannot be ignored at a university campus.

The center of London, including most major attractions, is in Zones 1-2. Most suburban (郊区的) areas of London, including Wembley Stadium and Wimbledon Tennis Club, are within Zones 1-4.

Almost the whole of London, including Heathrow and London City airports, is in Zones 1-6.

Any Temple student can apply to start their own organization from June 1 to March 31. Here’s a step-by-step guide to the process.

Step 1: Take a look at the current list of 300+ student organizations that already exist at Temple.

The mission (使命) and purpose of your organization must be completely different than any of our current recognized student organizations.

Step 2: Complete New Organization Registration (注册) on Owl Connect

Before completing the applic-ation, please be aware of the following requirements for recognition:

l A minimum of 10 members who are interested in creating or actively participating in the organization.

l A full-time staff member who has agreed to serve as the organization’s advisor.

The application should include the following information:

l A description of your organization’s mission and purpose.

l Contact information for your organization’s advisor, officers, and members.

l Membership requirements (if any).

l If the organization plans to travel or work with minors (未成年人).

Once your New Organization Registration is reviewed, the Program Coordinator for Student Organizations will email you with suggested edits to your submission (提交的信息). You should make edits and resubmit.

Step 3: Schedule a New Student Organization Presentation

After your registration is complete, the Program Coorindator for Student Organizations will contact you to schedule a time for your New Organization Presentation. Materials will be provided to guide your preparation.

All officers are invited to the meeting to:

l Share the student organization’s “Why” statement, S.M.A.R.T. goals, and First Year Plan.

l Review the new organization registration if necessary.

l Answer any questions about the new organization.

Step 4: Student Activities makes final determination for approval

The Associate Director of Student Activities will review the new organization registration and presentation to make final decision for registration. The Program Coordinator for Student Organizations will email you regarding the status of your new organization. If approved, all privileges of being a recognized student organization will immediately go into effect. Please contact Student Activities with questions regarding new student organizations.
