Seven years ago on the red carpet of the 63rd Cannes Film festival, Chinese actress Fan Bingbing wore a bright yellow robe embroidered (刺绣) with two leaping dragons and stole the show. It was her first time at the festival. This year, as a famous film figure, Fan joined the eight-member jury (评审团) of the 70th Cannes Film Festival, along with Hollywood star Will Smith and Spanish film director Pedro Almodovar, according to Shanghai Daily. “I’m grateful (感激的) for the recognition from Cannes in choosing me to be a juror,” Fan said in a statement after her jury status was made public. “I do have pressure on me, but this is also a precious opportunity to learn, and to see the world’s best films from the last year.”
