ACTFL 2005 39th Annual Meeting & Exposition

本文作者: 21ST
ACTFL'S 39th Annual Meeting and Exposition will be held November 18 to 20 in Baltimore, MD, US, at the Baltimore Convention Center and Hyatt Regency Baltimore. The theme for this annual meeting and exposition is: "005-2015: Realizing Our Vision of Languages for All".

Founded in 1967 by the Modern Language Association of America, the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) is the only US-national organization dedicated to the improvement and expansion of the teaching and learning of all languages at all levels of instruction. ACTFL's Annual Meeting and Exposition is the only national event bringing together language professionals from all levels, all assignments and all languages to learn together. Over the past 30 years, the ACTFL has become synonymous with innovation, quality, and reliability in meeting the changing needs of foreign language educators and their students.

All ACTFL 2005 co-sponsors are American organizations. They include: American Association of Teachers of German (AATG); American Association of Teachers of Italian (AATI); Chinese Language Teachers Association (CLTA); National Council of Japanese Language Teachers (NCJLT); National Network for Early Language Learning (NNELL); and the Maryland Foreign Language Association (MFLA).

This year's conference is the largest professional meeting of language educators in the United States. It has something for anyone involved in language learning and teaching — verything from educational sessions and workshops to networking functions, special events and a 3-day exhibition featuring products and services designed especially for language professionals. Its highlights include over 40 sessions for teachers of ESL, and over 50 sessions for teachers of Chinese.

The keynote speaker at the conference is Nido Qubein. Mr. Qubein will bring his unique perspective to ACTFL 2005 where he will speak about the lessons he has learned in a presentation entitled: Communication, Culture: The Power of Language Learning.
