Lucky drivers can save on ticket tariffs

BAD drivers in the US have a new kind of insurance (保险) on offer: pre-paid traffic ticket vouchers (券). For $13.33 (89 yuan) a new California company will cover $100 worth of traffic tickets. The offer is valid for 6 months. Keith Kelley, the company founder, says he got the idea for the business from a game. Critics say that the discount (折扣) may encourage drivers to break traffic laws. Others note that speeding tickets cause increases in insurance rates and “points” on the driver’s license: there is no real “discount” at all. Not yet, anyway… |  |
