TAIWAN actress Michelle Chen (Chen Yanxi) gave a press conference (记者招待会) for her new movie, The Soul of Bread, on June 9 in Beijing. It tells a light-hearted story about a girl and two bakers (面包师). The 29-year-old became famous after her last movie, You Are the Apple of My Eye came out last year. This time, she cut her hair and played a girl who has a low education and often wears tacky (俗气的) clothes. “I want to change the impression I gave in You Are the Apple of My Eye,” she said. “I want to devote (投入) myself to every role.” The movie will be in Chinese cinemas this summer.
