解析
D1 1-4 CBDC
1. C. 根据This was the first moment I thought, “Wow, I’m in China.” I felt excited that I’d finally arrived after months of planning可知A项错误,根据the warm air was filled with the smell of delicious food可知B项错误,根据There isn’t a great deal of choice when it comes to restaurants, either, and as a fan of food, I couldn’t wait to see what Beijing has to offer可知D项错误。
It’s like being a celebrity but without the champagne-fuelled (香槟助兴的) parties or millions of dollars in the bank可知B项错误,作者并不想成名,此处是借这个比喻来谈某些国人随意拍摄外国人给他带来的困扰。
The researchers believe such problems are special to today’s society. “The modern world brings with it stresses we would not have imagined 50 years ago, such as social media and smartphones,” Lucy Donaldson可知Donaldson认为人们面对的有些压力是现代社会特有的,这些压力在50年前都难以想象,比如社交媒体和智能电话,因此选C。
2. B。 In addition, the study showed that women have higher stress levels than men.
It’s expected that the survey will make people pay attention to what stress does to our bodies. While many people realize the effect of stress on mental (心理的) wellbeing, it is also important to consider the impact on the body’s systems,可知通过这个调查,研究者想让人们关注压力对我们身体的影响,压力对人们的身心都是有害的,因此选B,同时也可排除D选项。
3. A。根据第三段末尾和第四段开头可知,此处this指代的是前文的“have to justify why you’ve done so”,正是这样的行为和心态束缚了大多数人,因此答案为A。
(How dare you do the things you do when others never get a chance to enjoy them!)
My younger brother was born blind. If his blindness ever weighed him down, he never let it show. But I grew up carrying the weight of it on my shoulders.
The problem with blaming ourselves for things that aren’t our fault is that it blinds us to beauty and numbs (使麻木) us to life.

M: I’ve got some information about some schools in the area from the district office. Let’s see which is the best for our daughter.
W: Good. It appears there are six high schools - four state schools and two private.
M: I don’t think we can afford a private school, can we?
W: No, it’s too expensive for us.
M: I would like our child to go to a state school.
W: Our daughter isn’t good at science or sports but has a good sense of fashion. Should we choose a school with professional training in subjects like design or modeling?
M: That sounds like a good idea. City Art School may be a good choice.
W: What are these schools like academically? I mean, how many graduates go on to university every year?
M: Well, George Grammar School is very good. About 75% of its students go on to university. And the City Art School is even better, with the number of students reaching 85%. The other two state schools aren’t so good - both below 50%.
W: Well, it seems City Art School is the best choice.

W: Hi, John, many people in our department are leaving for Thanksgiving. What are you going to do?
M: I may see some friends and watch a few movies. And I’ll probably go to the Ottawa Car Show. What about you, Sarah? What’s your plan?
W: I am going to do some traveling with my family.
M: Oh, where will you go?
W: Toronto. And on our way, we’re going to visit my uncle, in Kingston.
M: That’s exciting. How long do you plan to stay?
W: Two days. I’m going to have a reunion party with my college friends on the ninth in Toronto. Oh, I’m afraid I’ve got to go now - my son is waiting for me. And I have to drive him to do some shopping. Have a nice holiday!
M: Thank you. You too.
Text 10
W: At the beginning of the tour, we will start from the most important place in the city, the Plaza Liberty. The Plaza Liberty has a history of more than 100 years. It’s a gathering place for young people on Friday and Saturday nights, and for parents and children on Sunday afternoons. There are four streets leading to the Plaza Liberty. Bruno Street was named after the first mayor of Plockton, who contributed a lot to the city. It contains all kinds of food stalls and interesting shops. Doris Street, which was named after a famous local designer, is where all of the government offices are housed. Horatio Street, whose roads are made of stones, is the only street that still has its original surface. We finally come to Betis Street, where there are two museums. One of them is the most famous museum in the country - that’s why I like this street the best.
