D1 1-4 BDAC
D2 1-4 CBDB
D3 1-3 DBC
D4 1-4 BDCA
D5 1-5 EGABD
解析
D1
1. B。由第二段“At 15, he began to plan a gap year to relieve his itch for adventure. As part of this, he decided to hike the A.T.”
2. D。由第六段“Sometimes, the hardest thing for me to do was to enjoy myself”可知,对于作者来说最困难的事是充分享受旅行的过程,所以D正确。
4. C。由第四段“To celebrate the finish of his five-month hike, Pitts’ family climbed to the summit of Spring Mountain in Georgia to greet him.”以及最后一段话“What a better time to explore when you’re young?”
2. B。由第二段可知袋鼠在澳大利亚地位 重要 ,所以A不对;根据文章提到的“One of the reasons people eat kangaroo meat is because it’s high in protein and low in fat. This means that eating kangaroo is a good option for anyone on a diet.”以及“The BBC also reported that Australian scientists believe that eating kangaroo meat is good for the environment – kangaroos have different digestive (消化) systems than cows and sheep, meaning they produce less methane (甲烷), the second biggest contributor to global warming. 第二段提到了“Aboriginal tribes (部落) still hunt these animals for their meat, fur and fat.”,但并没有提到袋鼠因此而面临灭绝,所以C不对。
3. D。根据最后一句You can then carve (雕刻) beautiful designs in the egg.
2. B。由第六段的“Most of the poems are indistinguishable (难区分的) from those written by humans, and XiaoIce’s book even got good feedback (反馈) from experts.” 由第三段的“Indeed, if you asked nicely, she could read you a poem from her new weekly column in West China City Daily.”可知C选项的monthly不对;由第六段的“This led to her figuring out a writing style of her own and creating over 70,000 original poems, with 137 used to produce the book.”
A选项文中没有提及;倒数第二段提到了“Last year, Google’s Parsey McParseface made some poems of its own, although they were branded “miserable (令人不快的)” and “mournful (使人忧郁的) ” by reviewers.”

M: Well . . . I don’t know. What did you have in mind?
W: Well, I was thinking like… OK. Like the library? The library’s…
M: What? The library’s boring. We could do that anytime.
W: Listen. How about on Monday we go down to the lake and go swimming there?
M: Ah, I don’t know. It’s meant to be hot that day. You know how easily I burn.
W: Wimp! We can do . . . OK. So Monday, we’ll go down to the lake. Tuesday, we’re going to go mountain biking. Um, it’s supposed to be cloudy so your skin shouldn’t get burned.
M: Oh, that sounds great.
W: Um, Wednesday I was thinking we could go fishing. Remember the last time we went? I caught like 10 huge fish . . .
M: Yeah, I remember. And the only thing I caught was an old boot. And you won’t ever, EVER let me forget that one. So, if we do anything, I’d like to enjoy it.
W: Well, OK then. Um, what do you think?
M: Well, alright. Well, we could stay home and uh, you know . . . pop some popcorn and play board games. Yeah, something like that… What now?
W: You know I like board games, but we can do that any time. We’ll do all those things we talked about and then on Friday, we’ll go on a picnic in the mountains. We can play board games at home on Saturday and Sunday and have popcorn. You won’t get sunburn, it’ll be a nice day. Let’s do that, OK?
M: OK. We’ll give it a try.
W: Good.
Text 8:
W: Hey, Andrew. Stop wasting water! Turn the shower off!
M: What? I can’t hear you! The shower’s running.
W: Yes, exactly.
M: What? Oh, OK. I can hear you now. What do you want?
W: Listen. You were in the shower for more than half an hour. That’s more than enough water for 10 people. I mean, don’t you care about the planet? You used at least 60gallons of water. That’s a terrible waste.
M: I wasn’t in the shower THAT long.
W: Yes you were. I timed you.
M: You timed me?
W: Yes, yes. I timed you. Our water bill was huge last month, and you don’t pay for any of it. I paid $113. And it’s going up. I . . . I mean, I know you lost your job, but I’m not made of money. Please be careful. I mean, at least, maybe you could take one of your showers at the gym or at Mom’s house. I don’t know how you can afford gym membership when you can’t pay any rent.
M: OK, sorry.
Text 9
W: Hi. Thanks for coming today; it’s nice to meet you.
M: Thank you.
W: To begin with, why don’t you tell us a bit about yourself?
M: OK. Well, I’ve always been interested in teaching in a language program like this, and uh, I graduated with a degree in English and psychology eight years ago, and then I landed my first job overseas in Japan.
W: That’s pretty impressive. What did you do there? What kind of work?
M: I worked full time for a private language school in Tokyo for the first two years, and then I found a job at a community college.
W: Why did you return to the United States? How long have you been back?
M: One of my former students opened a sushi restaurant in town and asked me to work with him. I came back about a year ago.
W: Really? What’s the name of the restaurant?
M: It’s called Flying Sushi - I work there two nights a week. I’ve also been working as a therapist at a treatment center for teenagers struggling with depression and other mental health disorders.
W: You have such a wide range of experience. Uh, you know, to be honest, we have 15 people who are applying for this position. You’ve got quite a background, but why don’t you tell me three reasons why you would be the best person for this job.
M: Um, well, first of all, I understand that different students have different learning styles, and for that reason, I’ve used iPads, video, music, cooking, drama, and games to reach every student. And second, I have a background in academic and psychological counseling and advising skills that are often needed when working with international students.
W: Yes, that could be really useful.
M: Yeah, so you know, many of them struggle with emotional confusion with, you know, home sickness…
W: Good. So, what would you say would be a third reason?
M:I speak five different languages… That’s also what makes me suitable for the position.
W: Five? What languages do you speak?
M: Well, I speak Spanish, Portuguese, and Japanese at an advanced level. I also speak Arabic at a high-intermediate level, and English, of course.
W: That’s very impressive. Uh, what we’re doing . . . we’re going to have two rounds of interviews, and we’ll contact you on Friday and let you know whether or not you’ll be coming back for the second round.
M: OK, great. It’s been really nice meeting you, and thanks for your time.
What will our planet be like in 2050? Around the world, people are living longer and staying healthier. People in economically rich societies are having fewer children. For example, in the United States in 1980, people over 65 made up only 11.3 percent of the total population. In 2050, they’ll make up over 22 percent. In the 1950s, average families had 4.8 children. Now, the average family has less than one.
The aging population in the US is going to affect the job market a great deal. Health and entertainment industries will need many more workers to provide services for older Americans. Jobs in education, especially adult education, will be increasing, too, as these older Americans are probably going to go back to school again and again.
With fewer children, who’ll do the jobs of the future? Will job competition decrease, while competition for workers increases? That will depend a great deal on immigration, especially if US citizens have fewer children.
