D1 1-4 CBDD

D2 1-3 CDB

D3 1-4 CDBC

D4 1-4 CABC

D5 1. leaving 2. But 3. compared 4. nearly 5. an 6. development 7. not 8. which 9. from 10. be found

解析

D1 1-4 CBDD

1.  C。 Her mom solved the problem this year when she discovered that other parents had hired a private city tour bus to take their children to the school. Now, she leaves the house at a much more sane (合理的) [time] 7:10 in the morning ... to catch the little tour bus at 7:23 am可知C选项正确。

2.  B。 But more than 3,300 people have signed an online petition (请愿) looking for a better solution from the Seattle school district. Those who have signed the petition want all high schools and middle schools to start no earlier than 8:30 am.

3.  D。根据倒数第二段Coaches dont want late dismissals (放学) cutting into sports practices; community groups dont want to wait longer for gyms and fields and before- and after-school programs don’t want to change their schedules. They have provided plenty of scientific evidence that teenagers tend to be night owls (夜猫子) and delayed start times improve their health, mood, attention, and, in some cases, learning.

4. D。根据倒数第二段But attempts (尝试) to delay start times for teenagers haven’t worked. This time, however, they’ve got Seattle School Board President Sharon Peaslee on their side.

2.  D. 根据Sometimes, celebrities take tabloids to court because they write too many things about their private livesThe sports section is also popular, and you can find out about sportspeople’s careers and their private lives. Tabloids are full of scandals, scandals and more scandals可知英国小报擅长揭露明星隐私,而且经常为此被名人告上法庭。

3. B. 根据This kind of newspaper is known to be not as serious as other newspapers可知英国小报上的内容都是不太严肃的社会娱乐话题。 While you can read the same story in other newspapers, a tabloid (小报) will normally give you a lot more details and even some horrible photos, including dead bodies covered in blood.

D3 1-4 CDBC

1.  C。根据“In smoggy weather, the device would suck up the air in front of the bike and blow out clean air toward the cyclist’s face.

根据第五段以及第六段“Take a balloon and polish it with your hand to produce static – it’s the same principle 可知,Smog Free Tower的工作原理是运用了静电原理,故D正确。 根据“purifies the air by giving out positive ions”可知,释放的是阳离子,故B错误。

Creating a good life requires you to choose how you spend your time well.

Text 1

W: Let’s do something outdoors today.

M: All right. But I don’t want to play tennis; we played tennis last weekend.

W: How about we play volleyball?

M: I’d prefer to go swimming.

W: Sounds good to me.

Text 2

W: Good evening, sir. Are you ready to order?

M: Yes, I'd like the roast chicken

W: And would you like some tomato soup before your meal?

M: I'll pass on the soup, thanks.

Text 3

W: I love the sunshine.
M: So do I. But they say we're going to get some rain later.
W: Oh, let's just hope it doesn’t snow.

Text 4

W: Good morning, sir. Can I help you?

M: Good morning. I want to buy a light pink lipstick for my wife.

W: Sorry, we don’t have this one in light pink, only in dark pink and plum red.

M: Ok, I’ll take the dark pink.

Text 5

W: This music is great. We should dance.

M: Oh, I’m sorry, I’ve got two left feet.

Text 6

W: Excuse me. Is this where I catch the bus to the zoo?

M: Well, you can take the No 6 bus from here, but then you have to change to the No 8 at the bank.

W: That doesn't sound too bad.

M: Actually, if you go to the bus stop in the next block, you can take Bus No 16. That’ll let you right off in front of the zoo.

W: Maybe that's what I'll do. Thanks a lot.

M: You’re welcome.

Text 7

W: Hello, fire service.

M: Oh, I'm ringing because I think there's a fire in the house opposite. Smoke’s coming out of the upstairs windows.

W: Can you give me your name and address and telephone number, please?

M: Yes, Andrew Bower, 17 Mallett Street, Brighton.

W: I'm sorry. Can you spell Mallett, please?

M: Yes. M-A-double L-E-double T. The telephone number is 694382. The fire's at number 18, just across the road.

W: Is anyone in the house?

M: No, they've gone on holiday.

W: All right, we'll get there immediately.

M: What should I do? Do I need to warn the neighbours?

W: Yes, you'd better tell the people living next door, at number 16 and number 20. But don't go into the house.

Text 8

W: Hi, Tom. Long time no see. How’s everything looking for Christmas?

M: Oh, I’ve got all the presents I need, and my family is working together to get all the food ready. But I have a big problem to deal with.

W: What’s that? Don’t tell me you’ve still got Christmas cards to write; it usually takes me a month to write all of ours.

M: No, I did that a long time ago. It’s about telling my son Travis the truth about Santa Claus.

W: He still doesn’t know that Santa isn’t real? How old is he, eight?

M: Yes. He’s never said anything, so I’ve never told him. But now that he’s getting older…

W: You think it’s better you tell him?

M: Yes. He’s too old to believe in these types of things. And I’d rather tell him before the kids at school do.

W: Well, when you tell him, be gentle. It’s hard for kids to find out something like that.

Text 9

M: It’s going to be a great party Saturday night, Meghan.

W: Yeah, but I have a million things to do this weekend.

M: Is there anything I can do to help?

W: Well, yeah, maybe. Do you think you could take me shopping tonight?

M: Yeah, that should be fine.

W: Great! Could you pick me up around six? Oh, and could you lend me 30 or 40 dollars?

M: No problem. I have about 60 on me.

W: Thanks, 60 sounds great. Are you free tomorrow?

M: Friday?

W: Yeah. Would it be possible for you to watch my brother for an hour or two?

M: I’m afraid I have basketball practice all afternoon, and…

W: Basketball practice? But how can I get ready for the party if you can’t do anything for me?

Text 10

When you’re talking with others, you’re not just using words, but also expressions and gestures in order to make yourself understood. For example, waving a hand is a way to say "goodbye." A smile and handshake are ways to welcome someone, and clapping our hands means congratulations. Nodding our head means agreement, while shaking the head means disagreement. These gestures are accepted by many cultures as having the same meanings. But sometimes, different countries use different body language. When Japanese people meet, they bow. When Indians meet, they put their hands together. When British and American people meet someone for the first time, they shake hands - they don’t usually shake hands with people they know well. Women sometimes kiss their women friends, and men kiss women friends on the cheek. When a man meets a man friend, he usually just smiles, and says “Hi”.
