Text 10
W:Attention please! Now I’ll give you a brief introduction to the Winter Festival. It’s a free event for all people to enjoy, and is organized by a team of volunteers. The first Winter Festival was introduced the year before last. Sadly due to a lack of money, no festival was held last year. This year, the government will provide $15,000 toward the festival. It also persuaded businessmen around town to offer another $5,000.
There’ll be a free art exhibition on Friday 18, Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 December in Center Park in the town. The opening hours are from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, and there’s an opening night on Friday, from 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm. This art exhibition is really a special one because the public will have the chance to see paintings from the town’s school. And all the paintings are created by the students.
The festival will also host a wonderful show called Sound of the Town in the Exhibition Hall this year. This production aims to show off some of the musical talents that we have in our town. Everyone wanting to watch the performance will have a better time in fancy dress. In the program, you’ll hear classical music, pop music, rock music and opera.

25. D。 Providing clean drinking water for people living in poverty is now a major focus for Kids on a Mission. B选项错在in the US,应该还包含国外地区。通过倒数第四段Children and adult volunteers dig wells …

28. D。根据it’s rather strange以及Her novels are so of their time that it’s remarkable that she is still appreciated in this very different age.
This is a very serious subject matter, of course, but the joy of Austen’s stories is her ability to make wonderful, but also touching, comedy (喜剧) out of something so serious. The pleasure of the novel is reading how these obstacles (障碍) are overcome and how the comical and unexpected ending is achieved.
