Text 1:

M: All these things here at the exhibition are beautiful. I’m wondering if I’m allowed to take some pictures here. Ive got my camera with me.

W: I think so. There’s no sign here saying you can’t.

Text 2:

M: Excuse me, Madam. Could you do me a favor? Would you mind opening the door for me? My hands are full.

W: Of course.

Text 3

W: Would you like some drinks, sir?
M: Do you have coke?

W: No, but we have fruit juice like pineapple, orange and lemon.
M: OK, I'll have an orange juice.
Text 4:

M: Hello, River Bank Hotel. How can I help you?

W: Hello, do you still have rooms for this Saturday?

M: Yes, we do. What kind of room would you like? Single, double or twin?

W: One twin room, please! Just for Saturday.

Text 5:

W: China Eastern Air. May I help you?

M: Yes, what’s your daily flight schedule from Guangzhou to Beijing?

W: There are several. The earliest flight is 7:10 am, arriving in Beijing at 9:10 am. And the last one leaves Guangzhou at 9:50 pm.

M: OK, thanks!

Text 6:

M: Hey, Jessica. I'm thinking about downloading a movie for tonight's party, and I wanted to know what kind of movies you liked.

W: What kind of movies did you have in mind?

M: Well, I’m thinking of downloading an action movie.

W: Ah, I don't really like action movies - too much violence.

M: OK, then how about comedies? They’re always good for parties.

W: Yes, I enjoy comedies.

M: Great. Actually, how about a horror movie or love story?

W: Uh . . . I'm not really crazy about horror movies, but love stories are often fun to watch. Oh, and I especially like foreign films, too. Actually, I just remembered there’s a French love story on TV tonight. You don’t have to download anything after all.

M: Ah, OK.

Text 7:

M: Hello?

W: Hi, Steven. It’s me, Susan. I wasn’t at school today as I didn’t feel well. My mom took me to the hospital as I had a bad headache.

M. Oh, I’m sorry to hear that. Are you feeling any better?

W: Yes, much better, thanks. I was calling to ask if we were given any assignments to do for tomorrow?

M: Let me see. Well, we’ve got to finish the math problems on page 65 of the textbook.

  W: All right. Got it.

M: Then, we have to hand in the report on the chemistry experiment. The history teacher wants us to read the chapter on the history of London for tomorrow, and then write down the most important dates and events in that chapter.

  W: Anything else?

M: Nothing more. Oh, the science teacher is giving us a test on Friday, so we have to prepare for that.

W: Oh no. That’s making my headache come back. Thanks, Steven!

M: My pleasure. See you tomorrow.

Text 8:

W: Dr Carter's office.

M: Yes, I'd like to make an appointment to see Dr Carter, please.

W: Is this your first visit?

M: Yes it is.

W: OK. Could I have your name please?

M: Yes. My name is Andrew Bower.

W: And may I ask who referred you to our office?

M: Er, I drove past your office last week.

W: OK. How about the day after tomorrow on Wednesday at 4:00 O'clock?

M: Er. Do you happen to have an opening in the morning? I usually pick up my kids from school around that time.

W: OK. Um . . . how about Tuesday at 8:00 am or Thursday at 8:15 am?

M: Uh, do you have anything earlier, like 7:30?

W: No. I'm sorry.

M: Well, in that case, Thursday would be fine.

W: OK. Could I have your phone number please?

M: It's 643-0547.

W: Alright. And what's the purpose of your visit?

M: Well, to tell the truth, I fell from a ladder two days ago while painting my house, and I hurt my ankle when my foot landed in a paint can. I suffered a few scratches on my hands and knees, but I'm most concerned about my ankle.

W: Well, did you put ice on it immediately after this happened?

M: Well yeah. I just filled the paint can with ice and . . .

W: And so after you removed the paint can . . . Sir, sir, Mr Bower, are you still there?

M: Well that's part of the problem. Er, the paint can is still on my foot.

W: Look, Mr Bower. Please come in today. I don't think your case can wait.

Text 9:

W: Hello, Ultimate Computers. May I help you?

M: Yes, this is Jack Kordell from Hunter's Office Supplies. May I speak to Elaine Strong, please?

W: I'm sorry, but she's not in right now.

M: OK, do you know when she'll be back?

W: Er, yes, she should be here later this afternoon maybe about 4:30. May I take a message?

M: Yes. Ms Strong sent me a brochure detailing your newest line of laptop computers, but there wasn't any information about after-sales service.

W: Oh, I'm sorry. Would you like me to e-mail that to you?

M: Yes, but our internet is down at the moment and it won't be working until around 2:30. Hum . . . could you try sending that information around 3:30? That's should give me time to look over the materials before I call Ms Strong, say, around 5:00.

W: Sure. Could I have your name, telephone number, and e-mail address, please?

M: Yes. Jack Kordell and the phone number is 560-1287. And the e-mail is jack@489.com.

W: OK. Jack Kordell. Is your name spelt C-o-r-d-e-l?

M: No. It's Kordell with a "K" and two "l's." K-o-r-d-e-l-l."

W: All right, Mr Kordell. And your phone number is 560-1287, and the e-mail is jack@489.com. Is that correct?

M: Yes it is.

W: All right. I'll be sure to send you the e-mail this afternoon.

M: OK, bye.

Text 10:

My name's Patrick, and I'm from the state of Indiana in the United States. When I was 19, I moved to South America, and later returned to the United States, where I attended university in the 1980s. I majored in Spanish and TESL, or teaching English as a second language. After graduating from college, my wife and I moved to Japan. Now, I work back in the US in Utah.

My greatest interest is my family. Years ago, I wanted to make something of myself in my profession. However, I realized that the most important things in life lived within the walls of my own home, and today, I try to put them first. My kids wouldn't remember me for the work I did outside of the home; they would only recall the moments we spent together.

Therefore, I enjoy spending time with my family. I have four children, and we go hiking and camping together. On our hikes, we often talk about life, and I tell stories or share personal experiences. Telling stories sounds easy, but when you have to think of a new story on a hot, hike through the desert, you have to come up with ideas off the top of your head.

Now, this doesn't mean we don't have problems; all families face challenges in their lives, and our family is no exception. However, we try to talk openly about our problems, and we try to solve our problems together. Building a strong family takes time, but it is worth the effort.

21-25 BCCDD 26-30 BCDBA 31-35 DCDBD

A

21. B。根据“We will meet you in the car park nearest the cave…”

22. C。根据“What to bring: A complete change of clothes and a towel as you will get WET, a bag for your wet clothes.”

23. C。根据“The age of any under 18s: We will provide you with a medical form or parental consent (同意) form as appropriate on booking.”

24. D。根据第二段“You will need a reasonable amount of fitness and flexibility (柔韧性) to move through the cave…”

26. B. Kids These Days simply mix most, if not all of my favorite genres of music into one big eclectic  masterpiece, said Kamia Jones, a Chicago-area high school senior. I like that they arent afraid to be different, and that their music is real and speaks to the soul.

30. A。根据So after its invention by Canadian-American physical educator James Naismith可知A正确。根据the sport took off with US city-dwellers, who quickly became attracted to the game可知,篮球运动的出现很快就受到了人们的欢迎,故B错误。

He makes a connection between basketball and hope可知,John Edgar Wideman将篮球与希望联系起来,表示受压制的人们渴望获得政治自由的心情,故C正确。

D

33. D。根据“evolution led to longer-necked giraffes being born, which in turn survived as they were able to reach the food that others couldnt.” 由“It was Darwins belief that the giraffe once had a much shorter neck, but over time, evolution led to longer-necked giraffes being born”可知,达尔文认为长颈鹿并非生来脖子就很长,是随着时间进化而来的,C错误。

34. B。根据“Because the animals neck increases its bodys surface area, it makes it easier for it to keep cool”可知,长颈鹿的长脖子增大了表面积,使得它们感到更凉爽,故B正确。
