1. How much time do you spend on social media every day?
On school days, I generally spend around 1 hour on social media a day. On weekends when I have more time, I spend around 2 hours on social media a day. But it depends on how much homework I have or if I have any other special activities.
2. How do you use social media?
I use social media to stay in touch with my family and friends as well as to share any posts or news with them. I also like watching interesting or funny videos to relax and have a laugh.
3. How does using social media benefit you?
Using social media helps me feel connected with others. It's also really convenient to use. Whenever I need to ask my friends a question about homework, I can send them a picture of the page and instantly get a response. Because social media is instant, when I use it I feel I can stay more in touch with what's happening in the world.
4. Does the use of social media have a bad influence on your life? If yes, why?
There are definitely some negative aspects to social media. It can be very addictive, so it can distract you from doing your homework, spending time with family, or doing the other hobbies you love. Because social media is all about new things, short videos and quick reads, I think it has also affected my ability to focus on things.
The weekend Lucy was looking forward to finally came. It was the end-of-semester party! From the decorations to the food, to the music, Lucy had helped prepare everything perfectly. Except it didn't start out as planned. Not long after her friends had arrived, they all sat down and started playing on their phones. Who was she going to have fun dancing with when they were all just silently staring at their own screens? So, Lucy decided to say something. “Hey! You're supposed to be here for the party!” Said Lucy. Then, her friends, realizing that they were missing out on the whole purpose of the party, put down their phones and started dancing happily to the music. It turned out to be a great party after all.
