Text 10
M: If you are interested in music and can play a musical instrument, you could have a lot of fun if you join a music camp in the summer holidays. One of the best places to go is California, where many universities hold music camps.
Students are divided into groups according to which instrument they play, and each morning they are given classes by an expert. In the afternoons they do a couple of hours of practice. After this, there are usually sports activities to ensure that the students get some exercise. In the evening, different events take place. Sometimes, a famous member of the musical community may give a performance, or the students will perform together. Other times, the students might organize a pop concert.
Another advantage of an American camp is that you can also practice your English as much as your music. By attending a music camp in an English-speaking country, you can be sure of gaining the additional benefit of becoming a better English speaker.

第二节
When I got there, I saw my surfboard lying in front of me. As I climbed on, I saw that my right hand was hanging off. I was losing blood quickly. When surfing, there is always the fear in the back of your mind of sharks. Now it was real. I was shaking, crying and panicking, realizing that I could die and feeling as if I was in a nightmare. I tried my hardest to swim back to the shore, worried that the sharks would come back.
Eventually, I made it to dry land. I felt a great sense of relief, but my wrist was bleeding severely. Someone tied my arm to slow the bleeding and my brother rushed me to the hospital. The surgeon (外科医生) managed to save my fingers. That day changed my life, but it hasn’t stopped me from surfing. After I recovered, I started a surfing school to teach the sport to others. I was more afraid of sharks before my attack. Now, I’m just grateful to be alive.
