Tian’anmen Square is located in the center of Beijing. It is the largest city square in the world and one of the most famous tourist attractions in Beijing. Being the best-loved public space in Beijing, it is also an important place for military parades and other large-scale events. Millions of visitors from all over the world come to visit Tian’anmen Square every day. They would like to take photos here or wait to see the national flag-raising ceremony.

I’m so excited that you’re coming to China and will visit us in Hangzhou. You can stay with us when you’re in Hangzhou since we have extra rooms.
Beijing and Xi’an have a long history and a lot to see, so you can stay in Beijing and Xi’an for four days each. Shanghai is another place you should visit. You can stay there for two days. It is not far from Hangzhou.
It is hot all over China in summer. You need to bring some T-shirts and comfortable shoes as you may walk a lot.

When I was invited to the potluck party, I did not know what it was, so I asked Mike about it. He told me each of us was supposed to bring a dish to the party. I wanted to bring dumplings as they are typical Chinese food. However, I had never made them by myself before, so I called my mother for help.
When I arrived at the school hall, I was amazed to find all kinds of dishes. Some of them looked beautiful and smelled delicious. I wrote a card to introduce dumplings and it attracted many students. The dumplings were really popular and some students even came to ask about the stuffing (馅).
It was my first time to attend a potluck party. I enjoyed it not only because I tasted many yummy dishes, but also because I showed my culture through food. It was so much fun！

I still remember that summer afternoon, when I was going to my teacher’s place to take my guitar lesson, a sudden flash of lightning crashed in the sky. In no time, the rain started to pour down. The wind was blowing around while the rain was dropping hard against the ground. I had to wait in a coffee shop, feeling helpless.
I kept looking at my watch for fear of being late for my class. “I can tell you are in a hurry,” a sweet voice appeared. “Take my umbrella,” the voice continued. I was more than surprised to see a girl of my age passing her umbrella to me. Before I could even say “Thank you”, she put the umbrella in my hand and disappeared in the rain. I didn’t realize the true meaning of kindness until that moment.
Kindness can build bridges across distances, and love has no limits. I’ve always been ready to help others ever since. Let’s take action and show our love.

Wetlands are areas covered with water. These landscapes are shelters (居所) for plants and animals, providing food, clean water and protection.
As one of the most important ecological systems on Earth, wetlands play a hugely important part in our environment. First, they provide food and cover for various creatures (生物). Second, they keep ecological balance. They also help to adjust (调节) the climate.
Simple steps can be taken to protect wetlands. We can volunteer to remove litter from the local wetlands. A clean environment is important for wildlife to live. Donating to organizations that focus on wetland protection is also a good way to take part in conservation efforts. What’s more, when we are visiting a wetland, we also need to respect the rules that are there to protect it.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is an important traditional Chinese festival, which usually falls in September. To the Chinese, the festival means family reunion and peace. On the day, all roads lead to home. Family members get together and have a big dinner. We usually enjoy the full moon, guess lantern riddles and have moon cakes. People also present moon cakes to relatives or friends to express love and best wishes.
We commonly share a dish at the table and I hope you will not feel uneasy. As for table manners, you’d better not eat until everyone is ready. And it’s impolite to reach over someone’s plate for something. Also, wait for everyone to finish before you leave the table. All in all, make sure that both guests and hosts are comfortable.
