Learning how to learn
Dear teachers and students,
My name is Li Hua and I am a student at Xinhua School. Today, I would like to talk about “learning how to learn”. As secondary school students, we spend hours every day learning. But do we know how to learn?
Different people may have different learning methods. For example, some students may be visual learners and may learn better by looking at pictures or watching videos. Others may find it more helpful to read a text out loud to be able to remember it.
For me, there are three ways that I have found helpful in my learning for different subjects. First, I try to take notes by hand. Writing down what I want to learn helps me remember it better. I have found this particularly helpful when trying to learn math. Second, for subjects like English, I find it helpful to use visual aids. For example, I try to watch English shows and movies to help expand my vocabulary. Finally, I often make study plans. These plans help me keep learning goals clearly in mind.
Learning is an art and we must try to discover the learning methods which work well for us!
