1-5 ACBCB 6-10 BAACB

11-15 CABAC 16-20 BCBCA

Text 1

W: What did you do on your summer holiday, Henry?

M: I went to Oxford. There are millions of tourists in the summer there, so it was easy for me to find a job.

Text 2

M: How many stops until North Station?

W: You’re on the wrong train. You need to get off at the next station and change to the green line. This is the red line.

Text 3

W: Mr Smith, I’m confused about my final grade. I wonder if there are any mistakes since I did so well in the tests.

M: Let’s see … Well, your attendance record for this term was low.

Text 4

W: You didn’t show up at the party on Saturday. Did you forget?

M: No, I didn’t! I thought it would be this coming Saturday. I’m so sorry.

Text 5

M: I can make some sandwiches and potato chips for the picnic on Sunday.

W: That sounds great! I’ll make a salad and bring cold drinks. I’m looking forward to it!

Text 6

W: Hey, Kenny! Have you got my e-mail?

M: No. When did you send it?

W: Last night.

M: Oh, sorry. I haven’t checked my e-mail this morning. What was it about?

W: I was asking you for advice on the travel plan I had made for our summer holiday.

M: Great! Wait a minute. I’ll check it after my breakfast. Then let’s discuss the plan.

W: OK!

Text 7

W: Is that a new backpack? Where did you get it?

M: Yes. My parents bought it for me. I love it because it is large enough. It can hold all my books and papers for class. My old backpack which my brother gave me as a gift was too small, and things always fell out of it.

W: That’s great. It looks like it’s made of strong cloth. I hope it won’t be worn out easily. I get annoyed every time I have to fix the holes my heavy books leave in my backpack.

M: I’m sorry! I like the lovely blue color of yours, though.

W: Thank you.

Text 8

M: Mrs Barrow? Could you please tell me what I missed last week?

W: You need to give the class a presentation on a foreign culture.

M: That’s easy. My family is French.

W: I’m sorry. It must be different from your own.

M: Do you have any suggestions on where I should start?

W: Well, you need to choose a culture. Then you need to find someone to interview.

M: Our new neighbors just moved here from China three weeks ago. I can interview them!

W: That’s a good idea. Then, you need to choose two aspects of that culture you want to study.

M: I understand. I’ll ask them about what they eat, and what kind of holidays they celebrate.

W: Sure. It can also be differences in languages, music or sports. It’s up to you. You have two weeks to complete your homework. Good luck.

Text 9

M: What does the app do, Jessica?

W: It’s an exam organizer app. You put in there the dates of your exams, how much you need to study for each subject and the topics you need to cover. Then, a study plan is created for you.

M: That could save some time, right? Does it do anything else?

W: Yes, Harry. It tells you when to take a break and have something to eat too. It also recommends different types of exercise and reminds you to get enough sleep.

M: Can I use it to share information with my friends?

W: Yeah, that’s the most useful part, I think. You can create study groups so that you can ask questions, exchange notes, tips and ideas.

M: Fantastic! Where did you get the idea from?

W: Well, from one competition challenge called “learning through communication”. I came up with this idea, but I never thought we would win!

M: Amazing! Last question: Will the app do the exam for us?

W: That would be unfair, Harry!

Text 10

W: The National Park is located in the desert north of our city. It is a great place for hiking. Like in any hike of this nature, you should be well prepared for the adventure. First, hike with a partner for safety. I enjoy hiking with family members and close friends. Second, carry a cell phone with you. However, keep in mind that you might not get any signal in some places, so don’t depend on it completely. Third, be sure to wear the right clothing and shoes or boots for the hike. Light, breathable clothing is the best during the summer. I recommend you bring a hat too. Fourth, carry plenty of water. Having a few snacks can give you energy, too. Fifth, take a small first-aid box with you, particularly on longer hikes, in case you get injured. Sixth, pack a detailed map of the area you’re hiking in, along with a compass or a GPS to locate your position. And finally, take nothing home with you except pictures and memories. You can protect these areas by leaving all rocks, flowers and other objects for future visitors.

Day 1 1-4 DCCD

Day 2 1-4 CBCD

Day 3 1-4 CAAD

Day 4 1-4 BDBD

Day 5 1. lies 2. a 3. traveled 4. was welcomed 5. passed 6. guidance 7. how 8. lively 9. showing 10. for

解析:

Day 1 1-4 DCCD

1. D。根据文章第二段“… a video posted in February, where the girl fell and her mother, instead of helping her, continued filming and laughing, raised concerns about the child’s well-being(引发了对孩子身心健康的担忧)。可知,这段视频让公众担心孩子是否受到了不当对待或伤害。

2. C。从文章第四段和第五段可知,一些内容与儿童相关的视频涉嫌违背法律或道德规范。

3. C。根据文章第五段“they must respect the children’s wishes and handle their personal information with special care(必须尊重儿童意愿,并特别注意处理其个人信息),并指出否则将违反《未成年人保护法》,由此可知她强调的是儿童隐私权必须受到认真保护。

4. D。从文章最后一段“child-friendly mode ... adjusts content based on the child’s age and provides features like time limits, rest reminders, app controls and other safety tools”可知,技术公司通过推出儿童友好模式等功能来加强未成年人网络保护。

Day 2 1-4 CBCD

2. B。根据第二段“Whether a society values individual freedom or group cooperation can affect how much people accept remote work.”

3. C。根据第三段中Kory Kantenga的话:“employers are going to ... do more to attract employees, and offering flexible work might be the thing that they have to do.”

Day 3 1-4 CAAD

1. C。根据第一段“Our team has developed BIOCAP tiles ... to help Miami and other cities adapt to rising sea levels while bringing back ecological balance along their shorelines.”

2. A。第二段指出,“traditional seawalls often come at an ecological cost. Their flat surfaces take away the complex habitat zones that marine organisms depend on”,可知传统海堤的平坦表面破坏了海洋生物所依赖的复杂栖息地,所以缺乏为海洋生物提供生存空间的结构。

3. A。根据第四段内容,the energy is reflected right back into the water ... increase erosion at the base of the wall ...”

4. D根据第五段“BIOCAP tiles address this problem with a nature-inspired design ... surfaces that help spread out wave energy by copying the natural way it fades on untouched shorelines.”

Day 4 1-4 BDBD

1. B。根据第一段“My neighbour would jump to fix it immediately ... But me? I wouldn’t say the drip-drip was relaxing, but I could live with it.”

2. D。在“I was out of my league”前,作者提到自己不是修理高手(I’m no handyman),而在动手过程中又不断出错,甚至弄断了部件以及后文What to do? Could we go to the bathroom? ...”

8“I asked if he was a plumber, and I didn’t hear a clear ‘yes’. Could I trust this man?”

4. D。文章最后两段“I thanked him, tipped him generously ... The next day, I texted him ... He replied that he ‘liked my personality’. My drip-drip turned into a win-win.”
