One possible answer: Yes, digital culture and social media do contribute to the decline in reading. First, short videos and posts provide instant enjoyment, so people often choose them over slower books. Second, they take up all our free time. Scrolling or chatting online leaves no time for reading. Third, screens make it hard to focus. Our brains get used to jumping between posts, so sitting down with a book feels boring. In short, digital content is often seen as easier and more exciting, so fewer people read for fun.

one possible answer

Good morning, everyone!

Today, I’d like to talk about humanoid robots. They look like humans and are expected to take on tasks in dangerous and extreme environments.

However, the biggest challenge is that they cannot understand the world as we do. For example, they need to be trained again and again just to pick up a cup. Also, their batteries don’t last very long.

Despite these difficulties, I believe that in the future, they will become more useful and help us more in daily life. I hope they can become good helpers in every family and make our lives better.

Thank you!

Day 4 1-4 CBCD

Day 2 1-4 BCCA

2. C。第三段明确提到 “bigger drops among those with lower income or education”,即收入或受教育程度较低的人群下降幅度更大,故选项 C 正确。

3. C。第四段引用作家 Elaine Castillo 的观点“social media companies have taken our attention, pushing people toward scrolling instead of books”,认为社交媒体公司抢走了人们的注意力,使人们把时间花在刷手机而非读书上,因此选项 C 正确。

4. A。最后一段Kate Laughlin 指出“If someone struggles with the act of reading ... that’s not fun”,如果阅读本身对某人而言很困难,那么“阅读乐趣”就无从谈起,阅读反而变成了一项“工作”。

Day 3 1-4 BDCD

1. B。根据对话开头 Han 的回答:“Im responsible for training the movement abilities of humanoid robots...”

3. CHan 明确表示,人形机器人的主要目标是“work in dangerous or extreme places for humans, such as space, nuclear power plants and disaster areas”,即用于对人类有危险或极端环境中的工作,因此选项 C 正确。

4. DHan 指出“Humanoid robots are designed to take the place of humans, not just be tools.”,人形机器人被设计成像人类一样工作,而不是像专业机器人那样只是自动化的工具。

Day 4 1-4 CBCD

1. C。文中第二段明确提到,作者在伦敦工作时,“last-minute events and long commutes meant I was too tired to cook when I got home”,于是冰箱里的食材最终被浪费。

2. B。作者在第三段回顾自己开始种植番茄的经历,称 “It was like a switch had been flicked in my mind I finally understood the value of food”。

3. C。文中第四段“I save every bit of uneaten food and put it in my next meal: using bread to thicken soups, or adding an egg to a three-day-old chili for breakfast. ”,这体现了“把剩余食材创造性地利用到下一顿饭”,故选项 C 正确。

4. D。文章最后一段提到,这种改变“has helped me enjoy being more unplanned in other parts of my life, like making social plans”,说明她在社交安排上也变得更加随性灵活,选项 D 正确。
