答案解析:
Day 1 1-4 DABC
1. D。根据文章第四段“calls obesity a growing concern”可知,Catherine Mary Russell认为肥胖是一个令人担忧的问题,再结合“When we talk about malnutrition, we are no longer just talking about underweight children,” 可知,她的言外之意是营养不良现在不仅仅指体重不足的儿童,还包括超重的儿童。
2. A。根据文章第五段“they often last a long time without going bad”可知,UPFs(超加工食品)具有较长的保质期。
3. B。根据第六段“in part because agricultural subsidies reduce the cost of their key ingredients like corn and soy”可知,UPFs的关键成分如玉米和大豆的成本较低,因为有农业补贴。
Day 2 1-3 BBC
1. B。根据文章第三段,美国的国庆日(独立日)庆祝活动包括“people come together to read the Declaration, reflecting on the ideas of equality, liberty and democracy”,即人们聚在一起阅读《独立宣言》。这与泰国和法国的庆祝活动不同,泰国和法国并没有提到阅读历史文件。
2. B。根据文章第五段“Thailand celebrates its National Day on Dec 5, which is also the birthday of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej”以及“Yellow — symbolizing loyalty and respect—is tied to his birthday, and on this day, many wear bright yellow clothes to honor him”可知,许多泰国人在12月5日穿黄色衣服是为了纪念已故国王的生日。
3. C。根据文章最后一段,Day Finder指出“they are ‘an opportunity for people to celebrate their country’s culture, history and achievements’”,即国庆日是人们庆祝国家文化、历史和成就的机会。
Day 3 1-4 DCAB
1. D。根据文章开头“what did you have for breakfast today? And how did you celebrate your last birthday”可知,作者通过提问的方式引入了关于情景记忆的研究。
2. C。根据文章第三段“the pitch change aimed to change the context and create an event boundary”可知,不同音调的变化是为了改变背景并创造事件边界。
3. A。根据文章第五段“the locus coeruleus became highly active when event boundaries appeared, but not so much otherwise”可知,核磁共振扫描显示蓝斑核在事件边界出现时表现出较高的活动性。
4. B。根据文章最后一段“The new understanding could lead to better treatments for memory-related problems ... These conditions might be managed by calming the locus coeruleus”可知,最后一段主要讲述了研究发现的潜在应用,即可能改善与记忆相关的问题。
Day 4 1-4 CABD
1. C。根据文章开头,作者提到大英博物馆不仅因为其历史宝藏和宁静的阅读室,还因为它提供了一种不同的视角。这引出了获得新视角的概念。
2. A。根据第六段,作者通过“glass half-full or half-empty”的类比来解释“perspective”,这是一个常见的例子,说明人们如何以不同的方式看待同一事物。
3. B。根据文章中“getting a broader perspective on things is well within our grasp”以及“we need to step back and see the context”可知,作者建议我们从整体上看待情况,以拓宽视角。
4. D。根据文章最后一段“help us identify underlying biases and limiting ideas, which is essential for building stronger relationships and making better decisions”可知,理解我们的感知和视角有助于识别潜在的偏见和限制性想法,这对于建立更强的关系和做出更好的决策是至关重要的。
Day 5 1-5 GFABC
1. G。根据前一句“Cheap and often poorly made, many low-cost electronics end up discarded in the trash or forgotten in a drawer”(便宜且通常制作粗糙的许多低成本电子产品最终被丢弃在垃圾桶中或被遗忘在抽屉里)可知,这里描述了一种趋势。选项G“This trend, known as ‘fast tech’, is becoming more common”与前文内容衔接连贯,说明了这种趋势的名称及普遍性。
2. F。前一句提到英国每年购买超过11.4亿个小型电子设备,选项F“However, about half are disposed of within the same period”进一步说明了这些设备的处理情况,与前文形成对比。
3. A。根据前文“We’ve had fast food and fast fashion, and we’re now in the age of fast tech”可知,Scott Butler在讨论快速科技时代。选项A“We’re not against technology”(我们并不反对科技)紧接着说明他们的立场,也和下文形成对比,即他们并不反对科技本身,而是担心质量低劣、价格便宜的产品被浪费。
4. B。根据前一句“Fast tech is seen as disposable by more than a third of British, according to a survey”可知,快速科技被视为一次性产品。选项B “This is, in part, due to the low price point”(这在一定程度上是由于低价)解释了为什么人们会将快速科技视为一次性产品的原因。也和后文“It might be cheap but it’s not disposable”形成了呼应。
5. C。根据前文“Butler says it is crucial to change our thinking about it”以及“Butler explained...‘Anything with a plug, battery or cable should never be binned’”可知,Butler强调不应随意丢弃这些电子产品。选项C “Never throw it away when it no longer works”(当它不再工作时,绝不要丢弃它)与此观点一致,强调了正确处理方式。

M: What’s wrong? It smells burnt.
W: Oh my goodness. It must be the chicken. I’ve cooked it too long. I’ll turn off the stove. Can you please help me open the windows?
Text 2
W: Are you ready to order?
M: Yes. I’d like beef noodles and a vegetable salad, please.
W: Anything to drink?
M: Just water, thanks. And could I get the salad to go?
Text 3
M: I forgot to buy some bread for the picnic. Does the supermarket close at 9:00?
W: Yes. You have 30 minutes, and it takes 15 minutes to get there. Hurry up!
M: Got it!

M: My flight is delayed. Can I keep my hotel room past noon?
W: Let me see if it’s available.
M: Thank you. I’ll wait for your update.

W: Hi, I’m looking for a book on AI called Deep Learning.
M: Let me check it in our system. Umm, yes, we have it. It’s $10.
Text 6
W: This scarf is $50? I thought the red tag said 30 percent off!
M: Those tags are for clearance items only. New arrivals like this are full price.
W: But the red tag was attached right here on this scarf!
M: Let me check ... You’re right. It was a mistake.
W: What will you do about it?

M: I understand. I’ll order an EKG and some blood tests to check your heart function.
W: That sounds good. What about the tiredness?

W: How are you finding it so far?
M: To be honest, I’m quite disappointed. The water looks inviting, but the sand feels a bit rough under my feet, and I wish it weren’t so crowded.
W: That’s true. Over-tourism is ruining the peace and damaging the ecosystem. See those plastic bottles buried in the sand?
M: Awful! Shouldn’t beaches have limits on the number of visitors?
W: That’s a long-term solution, but plastic waste needs immediate action. That’s why our community does a cleanup here every Sunday.
M: Could I join?
W: We’d love to have you. Real change starts when visitors protect what they enjoy.

W: Mmm … that doesn’t sound good. It actually sounds a lot like me last term when I was writing my essays.
M: Really? How did you get through it?
W: I talked to a doctor who gave me some practical tips. Following these tips is easier said than done, and they may sound a little strange.
M: Tell me more!
W: I tried to shift my focus when I felt panic. I would walk around to see different things, and I also did things like counting trees.
M: I can’t tell you how much I appreciate this. I’ll follow your tips.
W: No problem. I’m always here if you need to talk.

M: Hello everyone! Welcome to the Summer Camp Arts Program. We offer a wide variety of art courses, divided into two categories: Visual Arts and Performing Arts. Both give students plenty of opportunities to explore their artistic interests and develop creativity.
Our Visual Arts program is designed for students aged 13–16. The core schedule includes daily studio sessions where you’ll explore painting techniques, clay modeling, digital design and film production. At least twice a month, field trips will take you to galleries such as the City Modern Art Museum. Last term, for example, we analyzed Van Gogh’s masterpieces with professional guidance!
Our Performing Arts program is for students aged 8–12. Your routine will include dance workshops, singing practice, music writing and child-friendly drama games. Weekly off-campus activities are an important part of the program: attending theater performances, going on backstage tours at Symphony Hall or even joining community art events. Please note that parental permission is required for all off-campus activities.
Now, let’s enjoy a 3-minute video showcasing last year’s highlights!

W: Is that a new backpack? Where did you get it?
M: Yes. My parents bought it for me. I love it because it is large enough for all my school books and papers. My old backpack which my brother gave me as a gift was too small, and things always fell out of it.
W: That’s great. It looks like it’s made of strong fabric. I hope it won’t wear out easily. I get annoyed every time I have to fix the holes my heavy books leave in my backpack.
M: I’m sorry! I like the lovely blue color of yours, though.
W: Thank you.
Text 8
M: Mrs Barrow? Could you please tell me what I missed last week?

M: That’s easy. My family is French.
W: I’m sorry. It must be different from your own.
M: Do you have any suggestions on where I should start?
W: Well, you need to choose a culture. Then you need to find someone to interview.
M: Our new neighbors just moved here from China three weeks ago. I can interview them!
W: That’s a good idea. Then, you need to choose two aspects of that culture you want to study.
M: I understand. I’ll ask them about what they eat, and what kind of holidays they celebrate.
W: Sure. It can also be differences in languages, music or sports. It’s up to you. You have two weeks to complete your homework. Good luck.
Text 9
M: What does the app do, Jessica?
W: It’s an exam organizer app. You put in there the dates of your exams, how much you need to study for each subject and the topics you need to cover. Then, a study plan is created for you.
M: That could save some time, right? Does it do anything else?
W: Yes, Harry. It tells you when to take a break and have something to eat too. It also recommends different exercises and reminds you to get enough sleep.
M: Can I use it to share information with my friends?
W: Yeah, that’s the most useful part, I think. You can create study groups so that you can ask questions, exchange notes, tips and ideas.
M: Fantastic! Where did you get the idea from?
W: Well, from one competition challenge called “Learning Through Communication”. I came up with this idea, but I never thought we would win!
M: Amazing! Last question: Will the app do the exam for us?
W: That would be unfair, Harry!
Text 10
W: The National Park is located in the desert north of our city. It is a great place for hiking. Like in any hike of this nature, you should be well prepared for the adventure. First, hike with a partner for safety. I enjoy hiking with family members and close friends. Second, carry a cell phone with you. However, keep in mind that you might not get any signal in some places, so don’t depend on it completely. Third, be sure to wear the right clothing and shoes or boots for the hike. Light, breathable clothing is the best during the summer. I recommend you bring a hat too. Fourth, carry plenty of water. Having a few snacks can give you energy, too. Fifth, take a small first-aid box with you, particularly on longer hikes, in case you get injured. Sixth, pack a detailed map of the area you’re hiking in, along with a compass or a GPS to locate your position. And finally, take nothing home with you except pictures and memories. You can protect these areas by leaving all rocks, flowers and other objects for future visitors.

I’m writing to apply to be a volunteer for the International Marathon Race to be held in our city.
I have several advantages that make me a suitable candidate. First, I have rich experience in volunteer activities. I once volunteered in a city-wide marathon, where I distributed water and provided first-aid guidance to the runners. Second, I’m fluent in English, which allows me to communicate smoothly with foreign athletes and coaches. I can help them with directions, accommodation arrangements and other issues. Moreover, I’m a highly responsible and patient person.
I sincerely hope that I can be part of this volunteer team and look forward to contributing to the success of this international sports event.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

第二节(one possible version)
Before Tommy could respond, a pale, tired girl appeared in the doorway. “Hi!” she greeted Tommy in a soft voice. Tommy froze – that was the same girl he had seen in the photo. Mrs Johnson stepped forward and supported Emily. “This is Tommy, our neighbor.” Emily nodded, “I heard you play outside sometimes … It sounds fun. But Grandma says I need some peace and quiet. Maybe … you could play farther away.” Hearing this, a deep sense of guilt swept over Tommy. He apologized to Emily and promised that he would figure out a better solution. Emily thanked him and Mrs Johnson asked him to take the rest of the strawberry cake with him to share with his friends.
The next day, Tommy explained everything to his friends. While having the delicious cake, his friends exchanged uneasy glances. “What if we play in the park instead? It’s just two blocks away,” Tommy suggested. To his surprise, everyone agreed. “We can still have fun there,” one of them said as they packed up their gear. “Maybe we could visit Emily when she feels well and bring her some gifts, such as a drawing.” Tommy smiled, realizing friendship wasn’t just about playing games but also about showing kindness together. By dusk, Clover Avenue went quiet while children’s laughter, lighter yet deeper than before, could be heard in a park nearby.
