写作训练

Dear Apple Customer Service,

I’m writing to share feedback on the Live Translation feature of AirPods Pro 3. I’ve been using it for several weeks, and I find it incredibly useful, especially when communicating with international friends or traveling abroad. The real-time translation is fast and generally accurate, making conversations smoother and more natural.

However, I think the feature could be further improved by adding cultural or situational tips alongside translations. For instance, when translating greetings or expressions tied to local customs, a short note explaining their cultural meaning would help users avoid misunderstandings and show respect.

Overall, this innovation makes language learning and cross-cultural communication much easier. I truly look forward to future updates that make it even smarter and more user-friendly.

Sincerely,

Li Hua

Day 4

阅读理解 1-4 DCBB

Day 5

1. where      2. dramatic      3. Roughly         4. peaks            5. but/yet

6. reminding  7. stood         8. a               9. had missed       10. myself

解析:

Day 1 1-3 DCB

1. D。根据第三段“Our study focuses on selfie parks – purpose-built, self-contained spaces designed to provide visitors with beautiful backdrops for creating content”可知,自拍公园的主要目的是为游客提供拍摄内容的场景。

2. C。根据第五段“the commodification and inauthenticity these parks represent”可知,自拍公园的明显问题是其商业化和不真实的体验。

3. B。作者在文章中既提到自拍公园带来的好处,如创造就业机会和安全的拍摄空间,也提到其问题,如商品化和不真实。因此,作者的态度是平衡的。

Day 2 1-4 BBCC

1. B。由第二段 “Invented in 1965 in the US, pickleball combines elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis” 可知,匹克球融合了网球、羽毛球和乒乓球三种运动的元素,即它是三种不同运动的混合体。

2. B。由第三段 “pickleball has a low barrier to entry – it’s easy to learn and not very physically demanding ... its beginner-friendly nature is winning fans of all ages” 及第四段 “pickleball also has a strong social side, bringing together people who share a love of sports” 可知,匹克球受欢迎的核心原因是其简单易上手(simplicity)且包容性强(inclusiveness),既能吸引各年龄段初学者,又能满足社交需求。

3. C。由最后一段 “Song Hongfei ... expressed hope that pickleball could follow suit ... a large number of institutions and companies will get involved – from building venues and producing equipment and clothes to offering training courses and hosting tournaments” 可知,宋鸿飞期待匹克球能像马拉松一样迎来热潮,吸引大量机构和企业参与投入,即催生新的体育投资浪潮。

Day 3 1-4 BDBC

1. B。由第二段 “that sounds like sci-fi tech brought to life, but it’s real and might even change the way we travel” 可知,作者对该功能的实现感到惊艳;再结合第四段引用他人观点指出其削弱人际互动美感,以及第五段用自身经历强调语言学习挑战的价值,可见作者同时对该功能持保留态度。

2. D。由第四段Macy Meyer评价Live Translation“turns the messy beauty of human interaction into a sterile, frictionless transaction” 可知,她认为该功能让富有温度的人际互动变得乏味、机械,即不令人兴奋的。

3. B由第四段观点及第五段“these challenges force me to grow ... I’ve learned not to give up ... no quick translation tool could ever give me that” 可知,作者提及自身学习中文的经历,是为了举例说明语言学习中 克服困难的价值 —— 这种挑战带来的成长与情感联结,是翻译工具无法替代的。

4. C。由后文 “If fewer people learn foreign languages, those who really study may value it more” 可知,作者认为即便翻译工具的出现可能使学习语言的人变少仍有积极的一面:真正学习语言的人会更珍视它。“a silver lining” 在此指 积极的、充满希望的方面,符合语境。

Day 4 1-4 DCBB

1. D。由第二段 “the rulers were cruel. They banned the instruments ... But the people didn’t give up. They discovered empty oil drums ... The people came together and played in the streets” 可知,统治者禁止乐器,民众用油桶制作乐器演奏,是为了在压迫下保留自身文化、维系精神力量,即让文化与精神延续下去。

2. C。由第三段 “it was fun to play with others, making music together”、第五段 “the pan brought me joy and shaped my life choices” 及最后一段 “see how connected our histories are” 可知,作者通过钢鼓与他人建立联结,在音乐中找到归属感,其人生选择也受钢鼓影响,即通过钢鼓获得了归属感。

3. B。由第六段 “the steel pan was a symbol of colonial resistance ... tied to indentured laborers who were exploited ... The pan is an innovation born from a desire to create art even in hard times” 可知,钢鼓源于殖民压迫下的苦难历史,却也是民众在困境中创造出的艺术形式,即承载着痛苦却富有创造力的根源。

4. B。由最后一段 “how connected our histories are and how our survival depends on embracing this connection ... The pan’s magic attracts listeners ... I will share this sound wherever I can” 可知,作者强调各群体历史紧密相连,生存依赖对这种共同传承的接纳,钢鼓作为共同文化遗产的象征,其力量能凝聚人;即作者传递 共同遗产赋予持久力量的信息。

听力原文

Text 1

W: Professor Lee, may I submit my essay next Monday? I’ve been ill this week.

M: The deadline was yesterday, Sarah. But given your situation, I’ll accept it until Friday.

W: Thank you! I’ll email it before noon.

Text 2

M: The concert starts at 7:30 pm. Should we meet at the cafe opposite the theater at 6:45 pm?

W: Actually, let’s meet directly at the entrance. The cafe might be crowded.

M: Good point. See you there!

Text 3

W: I think we should postpone the hiking trip. The weather forecast says thunderstorms.

M: Really? I checked an hour ago – it said sunny all weekend.

W: The update just came out. Better safe than sorry!

Text 4

W: This package needs to arrive in Chicago by Friday. What are my options?

M: Express delivery takes two days, so if you send it today, it’ll arrive on Thursday.

Standard takes five days.

W: Perfect! I’ll choose express then.

Text 5

M: Your car’s brake system needs replacement. It’ll cost $400, but we offer a 10 percent discount for members.

W: I’ll take it. Also, could you check the air conditioning? It’s making noise.

M: Sure, that will be an extra $120 without any discount.

Text 6

W: Hey Tom, want to grab lunch together? There’s a new restaurant nearby.

M: Actually, I brought my own lunch today.

W: Again? You’ve been bringing lunch lately! Isn’t it time-consuming to prepare?

M: Not really. I get up 20 minutes earlier to make it. Eating out adds up quickly. Last month I spent over $200 just on lunches!

W: True. Maybe I should also try packing lunch more often.

Text 7

W: Ben, are you joining the community cleanup this Saturday? I heard they need more volunteers.

M: Actually, I’m considering it! What time does it start?

W: At 9 am near the park entrance. They’ll provide gloves and trash bags, but suggest bringing your own reusable water bottle.

M: That’s eco-friendly! Do you know if they focus only on litter picking?

W: Not just that! There’s also a tree planting group. I chose planting because I love gardening.

M: Perfect! I’ll join the planting team too. It feels great to help the environment together!

Text 8

W: Finally, we’re here! Hurry up, Jack! We need to pick out a gift for Amy before 5 pm, or we’ll be late for the party at 6 pm.

M: Relax, we’ve still got half an hour. She likes cute stuff, right? How about this pink bag with teddy bears?

W: $30. It’s not expensive. But Amy usually dresses pretty simply. Maybe the blue notebook by the window?

M: Hold on, can I try that black cap?

W: Sure. I’m gonna check out the scarves.

M: Hmm, too loose.

W: Hey, look! This red scarf has Hello Kitty – her favorite!

M: Perfect! Let’s pay at the self-checkout near Exit 2.

Text 9

W: Hey Chris, did you hear about the quiz night next Friday?

M: No, what’s that?

W: It’s a new event where students team up and answer questions on different topics. I think it’ll be fun!

M: Oh, cool. When and where is it?

W: Friday at 6 pm, in the auditorium. We should totally join!

M: Yeah, I’m in. Do you know what kind of topics they’ll ask about?

W: Not sure, but I heard stuff like history, science and literature.

M: Nice. I love history. Think it’s gonna be hard?

W: Maybe a little, but it’s all about having fun and learning new things.

M: True. Why are they doing it, anyway?

W: I guess to encourage people to study and socialize at the same time.

M: Makes sense. Let’s start a team and start preparing.

W: Great idea! We can meet after school to prep.

M: Perfect. I’m actually looking forward to it.

W: Me too. It’ll be a fun way to wrap up the week.

Text 10

W: Our student project, Green Innovate, focuses on promoting environmental sustainability within our school community. Led by a team of enthusiastic students, we aim to encourage eco-friendly habits among our peers. We launched a comprehensive recycling program, placing clearly labeled bins around campus to promote proper waste sorting and disposal. In addition, we organized workshops to raise awareness about environmental issues and the importance of reducing single-use plastics. Our team also partnered with local businesses to provide reusable materials, such as cloth bags and metal straws, to replace disposable items. We ran online campaigns on social media, sharing practical tips for sustainable living that reached over 500 students. Thanks to these efforts, our school’s waste decreased by 20 percent within six months. Green Innovate not only raises awareness about sustainability but also empowers students to take meaningful action for a greener future. We hope to expand this initiative to other schools and build a wider network of eco-conscious communities. Join us in creating a healthier planet for everyone!
