Art: a simple way to improve well-being

In our daily life, art is not just a form of entertainment but a helper for health. Research shows that art can reduce stress, lift our mood, and even support our immune and nervous systems. Whether we look at a painting or listen to music, art brings us calmness and energy at the same time.

Art also offers emotional comfort when we face pressure or tiredness. It helps us relax, stay focused and feel more positive. Many people find that spending just a few minutes with art each day can greatly improve their well-being.

To enjoy these benefits, we can start with simple activities. Visiting a gallery, drawing a picture, or joining a dance or music class are all good choices. Students can also join school art clubs or create their own small artworks. By making art part of our daily lives, we can lead healthier and happier days.

解析:

Day 1 1-4 CABB

1. C。由第一段 “This came after accusations surrounding Andrew’s relationship with ... sex offender Jeffrey Epstein” 可知,安德鲁失去王室头衔的原因是他与性犯罪者杰弗里・爱泼斯坦存在关联,受到相关指控。

2. A。由第三段 “Despite all these changes, Andrew formally remains part of the line of succession. He is currently eighth in line for the throne” 可知,尽管头衔被剥夺,安德鲁仍在王位继承序列中。

3. B。由第五段 “a National Centre for Social Research poll reports that overall, the majority of Britons still believe the UK should have a monarch. The survey also found that 58 percent of people think the monarchy is good for their country” 可知,民调显示大多数英国人仍支持君主制,王室拥有广泛的公众支持。

4. B。由最后一段 “the royal family is often seen as a symbol of national history, and many people feel they offer a sense of stability during times of uncertainty” 可知,王室被视为国家历史的象征,能在不确定时期带来稳定感,这暗示王室有助于强化国民认同感。

Day 2 1-4 DCAC

1. D。由第二段 “The experiment involved 50 healthy adults ... Half looked at original artworks ... while the other half looked at copies ... in a non-gallery setting” 可知,研究将参与者分为两组,分别在不同条件下观察艺术品(原作 + 画廊环境 vs 复制品 + 非画廊环境),通过对比两组结果得出结论,即采用基于条件的对比方式进行。

2. C。由第三段 “The health sensors ... recorded a 22 percent reduction of stress hormones in the gallery-goers and 8 percent for the other group” 可知,参观画廊的一组压力激素下降了 22%,而观看复制品的一组仅下降 8%,即画廊参观者的压力下降幅度更大。

3. A。由第五段 “when we enjoy art, it (the default mode network) becomes active along with other focus-related parts of the brain” 可知,维塞尔的理论认为,欣赏艺术时,大脑的默认模式网络会与其他专注相关区域同时活跃,即艺术能激活大脑的多个部分。

2. A。由第五段 “Germany’s social welfare spending reached 31.2 percent of its GDP ... But its economy has been shrinking” 可知,德国福利支出占 GDP 比例高,而经济却持续下滑,高成本与 GDP 下降的双重情况让福利体系承受巨大压力。

3. D。由第六段段首句及 “its famous ‘perfectionism’ once meant high quality, but now it can’t keep up in a fast-changing world” “smooth on flat roads but weak on sharp turns” 可知,作者将德国比作老式汽车,是为了形象说明其在稳定环境中表现尚可,但在快速变化的时代难以适应,即凸显其适应变革的困境。

4. B。由最后一段 “the ‘perfectionist spirit’ must adapt to the times instead of resisting change” 可知,作者认为德国的 完美主义精神不能抗拒变革,需要适应时代发展,即需要现代化以持续发挥作用。
