W: Color can make food mouth-watering, or it can make you want to throw up. This is what some scientists think.
Blue ice cream topped with black fruit? It sounds disgusting. Who would want to eat such a dessert?
Scientists claim that blue in a meal can make people lose their desire to eat. If you don’t want to eat too much birthday cake at a friend’s birthday party, make sure you put your slice on a blue plate.
Why is it that blue turns people off to food? Well, there aren’t too many blue foods, are there? Can you think of any blue vegetables? And if you see any blue meat you can be sure it’s gone bad. Yuck!
People don’t want to be poisoned. For thousands of years, blue, purple and black were thought of as “color warning signs”. People believed that foods of these colors might be poisonous.
So what should go into dishes? You need to think it over before helping your mum with dinner. That way your family members will be sure to enjoy dinner and not completely lose their appetites.
