Text 4

W: Transport in London is a terrible problem.
To create better traffic flow, a fee paid for entering the city has been collected from people driving in busy areas since February 2003.
"This is the only thing I've done in my political life that turned out better than I hoped," said the mayor of London, Ken Livingstone.
The idea is simple: Every car that comes into the centre of London has to pay a fee for using the road. The toll was £5 in 2003 and is now £8.
Many Londoners were unhappy with the idea at first, but soon most agreed it worked well.
"Although £8 is not cheap, things have improved. It used to be terrible driving in London during rush hour," said Adrian Sandiford, a 25-year-old Londoner.
"I hope the government will use the money to improve public transportation," Sandiford added.
