1. C。suggest doing sth
3. A。be supposed to do sth
4. C。在the first/second/last…
14. A。 as told也可看作是状语从句as they were told的省略形式。
16. C。相当于if (I am) not tired from work…。
20. D。被告知了多次才明白,这里强调前后分句间的因果关系,having been told相当于after being told。

16-20 BAADC 21-25 ADBCB 26-30 CADCD 31-35 ACBBA
A
But the building went on until we had “the most beautifully shaped, magnificent, and skillfully pieced together wooden boat”可知作者对他们做的船非常满意。
She said most of her family members still call her Jennifer.和六段中“It will take me a while,” said her dad可以得知B项正 确。文章提到同名网站, 并没说是她创办, 所以不能选A; 第三段第一句话说明D项错误;C项错在wanted to know her family。
C
44. C。从第二个小标题“Ask the other person to recite and repeat”中的最后一句话Most people will be pleased by the effort you’re making to learn their names中可获得答案。
46. B。从第五个小标题“Limit the number of new names you learn at one time”中的第一句话when meeting a group of people, concentrate on remembering just two or three names可获得答案。
D
48. A。 根据文章内容,“Sometimes one channel wins over the other, and you see the smile, sometimes others take over and you don’t see the smile.” 原文提到:but it only became well known in the middle of the 19th Century. 51. D。 The painting has always interested art historians and other researchers.
E
52. D。 When a writer wants his voice heard, he needs to claim ownership of his voice. 53. B。
My uncle will never forget what happened to him yesterday. In the evening, he was invited to a restaurant, and there he enjoyed his dinner with his friends, drinking a lot of beer. As a result, he got drunk. His friends tried to persuade him not to drive home, but he did anyway.
A few minutes later, he was winding his way through the street. And then his car ran into a tall tree. Fortunately he was still alive, though seriously injured. The police came and he was taken to the hospital. Obviously, he would have to stay in the hospital for quite a few days. Worse still, his driving license had to be revoked.
How he regretted what he had done!
