D2: CDAB
D3: DBA
D4: CDAC
D5: 1-5 BCABD        6-10 ACADC         11-15 CDADB        16-20 CBACD

Listening:
1. young
2. balloons
3. closest
4. sleepover
5. chatting
6. Scotland
7. ancestors
8. excitement
9. candy
10. treat

解析:
Day 1

Day 2
3. A。由第二段“I had never imagined, in my wildest dreams, that I would attend college in Ithaca, New York.” 作者原来一直想就近上学,因为离家近,觉得更安心,所以B项不对;由最后一段“It might be difficult to adapt to my new situation”可知C不对;在开始报考college in Ithaca时候,作者并没提它比本地大学更便宜,所以D错误。
4. B。由最后一段“Fear of the unknown, should not be a reason for shying away from opportunities.”

Day 3
3. A。 University of Newcastle researcher Craig Richards found no evidence that sneakers limited injuries. His research actually found that high-top basketball sneakers could even cause players to run slower and jump lower.。

Day 4
3. A。 It is caused by the microscopic damage of muscle fibers…
4. C。根据是Muscle soreness is a good sign. It means that you have challenged your muscles and are getting stronger.

Day 5
1-5 BCABD     6-10 ACADC             11-15 CDADB        16-20 CBACD
9. D。put up搭(帐篷),put off推迟、延期,put on穿上(衣服),put down放下,写下。
11. C。the right way指“正确的方向”。
be sure of“确信,有把握”。
19. C。followed the mark
20. D。in the direction of“朝着……

W: When I was young, I looked forward to my birthday all year.
The night before my birthday each year, my parents hung balloons on my walls with a big sign that said Happy Birthday while I slept! When I woke, I was always surprised!
If my birthday was on a school day, I brought in candy to share with everyone. On the weekend, I invited my closest friends to a birthday party.
And I had parties at my house. My parents made up lots of fun games to play. We painted pictures, played outside, and ate lots of cake and ice cream. My friends brought gifts for me, and my parents and I gave my friends small bags full of sweets called “goody bags”.
When I got older, I had birthday parties in different places. One year, I had a roller-skating party. In middle school, my parents let me have sleepover parties. My friends and I stayed up all night watching movies, chatting, and sharing secrets.
The saddest day of the year for me was the day after my birthday. Then I knew I had to wait another whole year before it would come again.

M: FOR many young people, Halloween is the best day of the year. The holiday has a very interesting history.
It was first celebrated in Ireland and Scotland as a festival of the dead. Families invited their ancestors into their homes but tried to keep bad spirits out by wearing scary costumes.
Now the holiday is a time for fun and excitement. Families cut scary or funny faces into pumpkins and put candles inside to make them into lanterns. These are called jack-o’-lanterns.
Children dress up in costumes and walk around their neighborhoods collecting candy. They knock on doors and when a person opens the door, the children shout, “Trick or treat!”
Once, this meant that if the person at the door did not give the children a treat, they would play a mean trick. But today, children usually do not play tricks. They are too busy getting as much candy as they can!
