topic nine
THERE aren't many people with a job like mine. What do you think it would be like to work in a dark place full of bats (蝙蝠)? At first, I was a bit afraid, but now I love my job.
Whenever I'm not going to school, I work as a tour guide at a place called Crystal Cave (洞穴) in Wisconsin, US.
I wake up every summer morning ready for a new day.
I see lots of new faces every day, and the visitors are usually full of questions. The cave is interesting, so it's fun to teach people more about it.
Most people are afraid the bats will fly into their hair, but in fact, the bats sleep during the day.
I love the other guides too. They are warm-hearted and always have smiles on their faces.
One tour at Crystal Cave is called the Adventure Tour (冒险之旅). We climbed through holes for two hours, and when we were finished, we were covered in dirt. It was even in our pockets! But I still can't wait to go again.
This job makes me one of the luckiest teenagers in Wisconsin. I get to do my two favorite things: talk and meet new people.
Working at the cave has given me lots of great memories (回忆). I hope to keep working there for many years.
