D2:
1. C。从“the most widely spoken language in the UK apart from English is Welsh”可知C正确。
2. D。作者说“If you think English pronunciation is difficult, try this”你觉得英语发音难的话,试试这个,言下之意就是这个发音更难。
A drug remains far off, but researchers have laid a foundation (基础) with their discovery that proteins can be removed from the brain’s fear center to erase cut memories forever可知,科学家们发现去除大脑中心的蛋白质会帮助人类去除痛苦记忆。
Because the proteins are unstable (不稳定的), they can be easily removed with drugs or behavior therapy to erase cut memories可知,这种蛋白质之所以容易被消除,是因为其稳定性低的特点。
The researchers are working on ways to reopen the window by recalling (回想) the painful memory and using drugs to remove the protein.
3. D线索是:I want my doctors to carry my coffin because people should realize that no doctor can really cure any body, let people not take life for granted.
Dialogue 1M: I’ve been reading the newspapers. The environment is in a terrible state and I want to do something to help.
W: It worries me too. What are you going to do?
M: I’m going to make some changes to my life, like taking shorter showers and recycling my trash.
W: That’s a good idea.
Dialogue 2W: John, you really have to change your ways. All the time you drop plastic bags and other garbage. Don’t you know that it harms the environment?
M: Oh, come on Lorraine. It’s just a few plastic bags.
W: John, think about it. What would happen if everyone behaved like you?
M: I hadn’t thought about it that way. I guess you’re right.
Dialogue 3W: I really want to do something about all the garbage in the city. It’s terrible for the environment!
M: You can join me in a campaign to clean up the city! Let’s get started by holding a meeting in the local community center.
Dialogue 4M: Air pollution is so bad in this city. I think the government should stop people from driving cars on certain days.
W: You have a point. Air pollution is a problem. But not letting people drive on certain days is a bad idea. People have to go to work by car.
M: I’m afraid I don’t agree with you there. Reducing air pollution is really important. People are so used to driving that they don’t think about ways to do things. If we stop them from driving on certain days, maybe they could think of new ways to get around.
W: I see your point. But I still think it wouldn’t be possible to stop people from driving.
Dialogue 5W: I’m very sorry to hear that the Earth is becoming warmer and warmer.
M: Me too. There are many reasons why.
W: So what do you think?
M: Well, I think people cut down too many trees and use too many chemicals –it pollutes the air.
W: Anything else?
M: Oh, let me see. I also think there is too much waste of resources in our lives. We should learn to live a low carbon lifestyle, such as saving water and electricity.
W: Thanks for telling me so much.
M: You’re welcome!
MonologueGood morning, this is Henry James with this edition of Morning Hours on air. Now if you’ve got nothing to do today, why not go to the east part of the city and get digging. That’s the message from Bright Sunshine Youth Club, which is organizing a tree planting event near East Mountain. Bright Sunshine Youth Club is a famous environmental group in our city. In order to improve the environmental education of the students and get more people organized, the club is planning to plant a total of 14,000 trees paid for by the government over the next few days. The club is hoping to plant 3,500 a day and they are looking for volunteers to come along and help. No experience is necessary, as there will be experts to give directions and equipment will be provided. Every one is welcome to come along anytime between 10 and 4 o'clock. Just remember to take the right sort of shoes and clothes with you. And of course, gloves will be essential to protect your hands. It could be a really nice day out for all families. Enjoy your day.
