As part of China’s 245 million-strong migrant population, 29-year-old Liang Yichang struggled his way back to his hometown in Shanxi province every Spring Festival after he forming a nuclear family in Beijing in 2007. But traveling back home during the Spring Festival isn’t a phenomenon unique to China. In South Korea, the mass *exodus of people from Seoul during the *Lunar New Year also brings on an annual *migraine due to the country’s high population mobility.
