Season for beauty: Every year women in India and Nepal celebrate the Teej festival, welcoming the monsoon season, which usually arrives in July and lasts for three months. During the celebration, women dance and sing, with their hands covered by henna, a kind of body art. They also pray to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, seeking their blessings for marital bliss. At Khalsa college for Women in Amritsar, girls are posing with their hands decorated with henna during this year’s Teej festival on Aug 8. AFP
