Making micro landscapes is a recreation for many people, but for Zhou Zijing, a 30-year-old graduate of Beijing Technology and Business University, it’s a profitable business. Ever since micro landscaping gained popularity in China in 2012, Zhou has set up workshops to make such landscapes. He hired four recent graduates, from Qingdao Agricultural University and Shenyang Agricultural University, to help him design micro landscapes and do marketing. Together they have earned a monthly revenue of more than 100,000 yuan in 2015. Zhou isn’t satisfied with what he has achieved, though. He plans to make the business a franchise with a chain of stores. By doing so, he hopes he can offer more career opportunities to college graduates. ic
