ABOUT 1.25 million people die each year because of road traffic accidents, including 186,300 children under the age of 18, said the World Health Organization (WHO). Road traffic injuries (受伤) are the leading cause of death among young people between the ages of 15 and 29 years old. For people who survive these accidents, many of them suffer (遭受) serious injuries or disabilities (残疾). And that number is between 20 and 50 million.
