MORE often than not, pencils that are too small to write with end up in the trash. But a Denmark-based company called Sprout has given them new life. It has made a pencil with a capsule that holds a seed at the end. The pencil can be planted when it becomes too short to use. Sprout says the seeds will break from the soil in one to three weeks. At present, there are 22 kinds of seeds, including tomato, eggplant and radish (萝卜).
