Last week Mrs Milly went to London. She was born in New York, US, and knew nothing about London. So on the first day she soon lost her way. Suddenly, she saw a man near a bus stop. "I can ask him the way," she said to herself. "Excuse me," she said. "Can you tell me the way to King Street, please?" The man smiled happily. He did not understand English! He was Japanese. Then he put his hand into his pocket, and took out a notebook. He opened the book and found a sentence. He read it slowly: "I am sorry. I do not speak English."
