We buy pickles (泡菜) from a store or supermarket. But students at Chengdu No 7 Wanda High School in Sichuan have made their own pickles. They presented 70 jars of pickles, including those made with vegetables and meat, during a recent pickle-tasting festival. These pickles stood out from more than 200 jars of pickles made by students. Students and teachers tasted the pickles and picked out their favorite ones. Some even had several bowls of rice with the delicious pickles.
