The Japanese government is considering trying to persuade people to leave its capital Tokyo by paying them to go and live in other places, reported Quartz in November. Those who leave 23 wards (区) of Tokyo and land jobs elsewhere might get a payment of up to 3 million yen (175,000 yuan).
