US singer Katy Perry, 35, has reframed herself on Smile, the title of her sixth studio album released on Aug 28. “The reason [it] is called Smile is because I literally lost my smile,” she told Extra TV. Perry said she has been “going through quite an emotional (情感上的), spiritual, mental journey” since 2017 due to poor critical (批评性的) reception (反应) of her album Witness and a miserable (痛苦的) breakup. But while making the album, she rebuilt her confidence. “This record is really about hopefulness. It’s about resilience (恢复力),” Perry told media outlet NPR’s Noel King.
