Chinese snowboarder Su Yiming made a breakthrough in Snowboard Big Air (大跳台) and Slopestyle (坡面障碍技巧) on Oct 28. Su, 17, completed a Backslide 1980 Indy Crail (内转1980抓板) in a training session. This made him the first athlete in the world to complete such a difficult move. Early in January 2021, Su already became the first Chinese male snowboarder to finish the Cab 1800 (反脚外转五周1800度), known as one of the most difficult snowboarding tricks. But he has remained grounded despite the achievements and made sure to do things step by step. Su has fixed his eyes on the upcoming Beijing 2022 Winter Games. “I will continue to work hard and take every day’s training seriously … I will do my best ... to win glory for my country,” Su wrote on his Sina Weibo account.
