China as a country has had a growing positive impact on the lives of young Africans, a survey by a South African foundation said on June 13. The survey covered 4,507 18-to-24-year-olds from 15 countries in Africa. Positive views toward China were strongest in Rwanda, Malawi and Nigeria. According to the foundation, the result shows “a recognition of the fact that China is engaging (参与) with Africa at a time when very few others are”. Over the past two decades, China has funded infrastructure (基础设施) in Africa and provided affordable consumer goods such as mobile phones and solar panels (太阳能板), China Daily reported.
