This year’s Nobel Prize has stirred up people’s curiosity about quantum (量子) physics. Alain Aspect from France, John Clauser from the US and Anton Zeilinger from Austria won the 2022 Nobel Prize in physics for their work on quantum information science, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences announced in early October. The awards were given for the scientists’ “experiments with entangled photons (呈纠缠态的光子) ... and pioneering quantum information science,” according to the academy’s website.
