On Dec 3, Brazilian soccer player Pele was reported to receive palliative care (临终关怀) as he continued to battle colon (结肠) cancer. As one of the best soccer players of all time, Pele is the only player to have won the World Cup three times, lifting the trophy (奖杯) in 1958, 1962 and 1970. His health problem also attracted the attention of many fans. Some displayed the message ‑ “Pele, we are with you. Brazil is together, stay strong!” ‑ at the Lusail Stadium when Team Brazil competed against Cameroon on the same day. To reassure them, Pele wrote on his Instagram later, saying he is “strong” and has “a lot of hope”.
