Chinese diver Wu Minxia will be inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame in September, reported NBC Sports in March. As China’s most decorated (挂满勋章的) Olympian, the 37-year-old has won five gold medals at four consecutive (连续的) Summer Olympic Games since 2004. But due to huge physical challenges, Wu decided to retire at 31 years old in 2016. As SwimSwam News noted, 12 other athletes who have officially retired from competing for at least four years will be eligible (有资格的) for the Hall of Fame, including the most-accomplished (最有成就的) swimmer in history, US player Michael Phelps.
