A woman holds a fossilized (石化的) snail that was found inside an amber (琥珀). The fossil is 99 million years old! It was shown at the Museum of Natural History and Ethnography in Colmar, France, on March 14. The snail was discovered in an amber mine in Myanmar, and it lived at the same time as the dinosaurs! This snail is only 9 millimeters long and has a shell (壳) lined with short bristly (硬的) hairs less than 1 millimeter in length. In June, the snail will be on display in the museum in Colmar with 200 specimens (品种) of snails. Studying the snail can give us a window into the biodiversity (生物多样性) of the era.
