More than 50 national archaeological (考古的) site parks in China had received 146 million visits in total over the five years between 2018 and 2022, said the National Cultural Heritage Administration on April 18. As of the end of 2022, China had 55 national archaeological site parks. According to Xinhua, national archaeological site parks are public cultural spaces developed on archaeological sites. These parks serve various functions, such as scientific research, education, and entertainment. In the past five years, national archaeological site parks across the country hosted 4,733 social activities and 367 exhibitions (展览). They have also conducted 465 archaeological and scientific research projects, as well as 633 academic activities.
