Washed away: A man walked on the street in Derna, Libya, on Sept 17. A strong storm hit Libya on Sept 10, bringing a huge amount of rainfall which then triggered the worst floods in the country in decades. The floods swept buildings along its path into the sea. As of Sept 19, the floods had taken more than 3,958 lives with another 9,000 missing. Rescuers from Turkiye, Egypt and many other countries are working alongside Libyan soldiers and medical teams.
