Chinese tennis talent Yuan Yue has impressed the tennis world. On March 13, the 25-year-old advanced to the Indian Wells quarterfinals in the US after defeating No 11 seed Daria Kasatkina. This saw her become the first Chinese female player to reach the quarterfinals of the tournament since Li Na in 2014. Yuan came in fresh from winning her first WTA Tour title at the 2024 ATX Open on March 3. Now, ranked 37th, she has become China’s second highest-ranked woman in the world behind Zheng Qinwen, who is ranked 8th, according to WTA Tennis.
