The Catalogue of Life (生物物种名录) checklists can show the biodiversity in a country or region (地区). China has been making a list of its biological species (生物物种) since 2008. It brings out a new list every year.  In 2023, 148,674 species and sub-species (物种及种下单元) were on the list.
