Starting from this school year, the number of undergraduate students at universities and junior colleges who can receive State-level scholarships will be doubled from 60,000 to 120,000, and each student will receive 10,000 yuan annually. The number of postgraduate students qualified for State-level scholarships will increase from 45,000 to 90,000, with 70,000 for master’s degree students and 20,000 for doctoral students. Meanwhile, China will allocate (分配) more funds to help students with financial difficulties. From this semester, they will receive an average of 3,700 yuan in State-level financial aid per year, with some getting as much as 5,000 yuan. Previously, student aid was limited to 3,300 yuan per year.
