Once upon a time there lived a crow (乌鸦) in a tree. At the root (根部) of the same tree, a snake built its home there.

Whenever the crow laid eggs, the snake would find them and eat them up. The crow felt helpless and thought, “I must teach that bad snake a lesson.”
